Opening Day is here and I find baseball is a great metaphor for finding The One and building a lifetime of romance. I’m not going to start quoting Yogi Berra or Field of Dreams, but here are a couple of lessons we help our clients draw
from the national pastime.
A BAD SEASON DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING: The SF Giants lost more games on the road in 2009 than they won - then followed up the next year with a World Series Championship. If you’ve had some bad experiences in the past, put it behind you like 'last seaon'. Learn from it, regroup, and focus all of your energy on creating a great new romance.
FOLLOW THROUGH ON YOUR SWING: The difference between a weak hit and a home run is following through on your swing. The same holds true for making early romances evolve into relationships -- if you're planning a date, be thorough and make great plans; if you're trying to dress-to-impress, take the extra twenty minutes to look your best. Follow through!
GREAT SCOUTS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE: Very few baseball superstars were “Mr. Baseball” of their home state or elite college players. The most successful teams have deep networks of scouts that are attending small baseball games everywhere from Poughkeepsie to Panama City. They have a clear idea of what their team needs and will look under every rock (or base) to find it. It’s the same for Kelleher International. Our network of scouts reaches every corner of the globe – work with your matchmaker closely to ensure we are finding the right match for you.
