Natural disaster has seemed of apocalyptic proportion this year. We’ve only recently entered the second half of hurricane season and the recorded devastation of five storms have already claimed hundreds of lives, disrupted the fourth most populous city in the United States, changed the landscape of the Caribbean, and uprooted millions of people in a matter of moments.
Imagine having everything you own ripped from you in a handful of hours – your home and community destroyed.
In light of our long-standing partnership with Virgin Unite, the Kelleher Community stands ready to support the BVIs during recovery from Hurricane Irma, the largest Atlantic Ocean storm in recorded history. Please join us by considering a donation to this devastated region.
The uniqueness and isolation of the Virgin Islands is much of their allure, but during natural disaster it makes critical resources like food, water and medical supplies difficult to deliver to the areas and people most affected.
A group of strong and motivated organizations including Virgin Unite, Unite BVI, and Virgin Limited Edition are working tirelessly to bring stability to the people and communities of the BVI, helping to rebuild all that was lost. Their team on the ground is coordinating the delivery of aid, deploying funds, emergency supplies, and transportation when and where it’s needed most.
You can support their efforts by donating at virg.in/IrmaBVI. Every penny of your generous, tax-deductible contribution will go directly to the relief efforts on the ground.
If you would like to offer financial aid to fellow Americans in Texas, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and/or Puerto Rico, Global Giving provides emergency services and immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, hygiene products, and shelter. Global Giving is the largest global crowdfunding community connecting you with nonprofits and companies doing good in almost every country around the world.
Full recovery in all of the devastated areas will take years, but it is critical to raise as much financial support as we can, as quickly as possible since the situation is so dire for the islands affected. Please consider giving what you can. If you aren’t prepared to donate a large amount right now, spreading out donations over a longer period of time offers a boost to charities when other contributions begin to wane.
Please spread the word by sharing this letter with your networks. You can contact the Virgin Unite team at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. Similarly, in the U.S. Global Giving is eager to answer any donation questions you might have.
Time is of the essence; please take action now. Thank you for your support!
